Sassy Book Lovers Blog Hop

Even though I mostly write YA, I have a slight obsession with classic literature. I have a goal to read all of the books on the high school recommended reading lists, as well as BBC’s Top 100 Books. Here are some of my favorite quotes from some classics:

“In vain have I struggled. It will not do. My feelings will not be repressed. You must allow me to tell you how ardently I admire and love you.”
 Jane Austen (Pride and Prejudice)

“Whatever our souls are made of, his and mine are the same.”
—
Emily Brontë (Wuthering Heights)

“Love looks not with the eyes but with the mind.”
–William Shakespeare (A Midsummer’s Night Dream)

“You have killed my love.  You used to stir my imagination. Now you don’t even stir my curiosity. You simply produce no effect. I loved you because you were marvelous, because you had genius and intellect, because you realized the dreams of great poets and gave shape and substance to the shadows of art. You have thrown it all away.”
–Oscar Wilde (The Picture of Dorian Gray)
