Author Interview with Vincent Zandri

BREA: Tell us a little about yourself. Where are you from? Hobbies, interests?

VINCENT: I’m an essayist, journalist, author, blogger, father, traveler. I spend at least six weeks every year in Florence Italy.

BREA: Tell us about your work. What genre(s) do you write?

VINCENT: While I specialize in noir and thrillers. With my release The Remains I hit the Amazon top 100 for romantic suspense. I’ve written other genres such as literary fiction, noir and thriller. But with Love at First Sight I went all the way into romance. And this one is a short. However, I’m happy to continue it with the sequel I’m working on now entitled Precious.

BREA: What do you like to read?

VINCENT: Hemmingway, Dave Zeltserman, Al Leverone, and when she ventures into romantic suspense I’ve been known to read and blurb for Bri Clark. Most of my reading lately is for those that have asked for blurbs.

BREA: Tell us about your current project.

VINCENT: This is actually a resurrection of a short story I wrote after I got my MFA. It’s about a young U.S. Army officer who’s served in Afghanistan finds himself suffering from intermittent bouts of “hysterical” temporary blindness due to impossible and deadly orders he was forced to obey by high command in the field. After being released from the hospital he and his fiancée travel to Venice after being apart for a year in an effort to cope with his disability and their relationship.

BREA: Where do you get your ideas/inspiration?

VINCENT: A lot of my work is based on real people, or real events. Sometimes I’ll even keep the original names until my galleys. But, in Love at First Sight it’s all original which is different than my usual routine.

BREA: What is one piece of advice you’ve received that you thought was good?

VINCENT: Hemmingway always stopped his stories where he knew what would happen next. This technique seemed to keep him from ever experiencing writer’s block.

BREA: Where can you be found online?

VINCENT:
